PETG .

The modern display plastic, glass-clear, food-contact safe, and forms cleanly. Sneeze guards, food-contact covers, lightweight machine guards.

Overview

When clarity, impact and food safety all matter .

PETG is the modern display plastic, glass-clear like acrylic, easy to form like polycarbonate, food-contact safe like polypropylene. We use it daily for hospitality sneeze-guards, food-contact display covers, blister packaging, lightweight machine guards and any application where clarity, impact resistance and safety all matter.

Amorphous thermoplastic with glass-clear optical clarity, very good impact resistance, FDA-compliant grades for direct food contact, easy thermoforming and line bending. Density ~1.27 g/cm³. Service temperature -40°C to +70°C. Naturally chemical-resistant to mild acids and alcohols.

Where acrylic is brittle and prone to stress-cracking, PETG flexes. Where polycarbonate is hazy, PETG is glass-clear. Where both can't go food-contact, PETG can. Slightly softer surface than acrylic, not the right choice for showroom diamond-polish work but better for any application that flexes or impacts.

FAQ

Common questions about PETG .

FDA-compliant grades are available for direct food contact, used for hospitality sneeze guards, food display covers and salad-bar shrouds. Documentation supplied with the quote on food-grade jobs.

For most hospitality and clinical applications, yes. PETG flexes where acrylic is brittle and prone to stress-cracking, it's food-contact safe where acrylic isn't, and it's cheaper to fabricate at scale. Acrylic still wins for showroom diamond-polish work where the visible finish takes priority.

Yes, PETG forms beautifully and is the standard material for blister and clamshell packaging, retail product covers and lightweight machine guards. See our thermo forming service.
