Polypropylene .
Chemical-resistant, food-grade, and welded daily for industrial and food fit-outs. Higher service temperature than HDPE.
HDPE's chemistry sibling, warmer service .
Polypropylene (PP) is HDPE's chemistry sibling, similar weldability, even better chemical resistance for some applications, and available in food-grade and FDA-compliant formulations. We work PP for food-processing hoppers, chemical scrubbers, dairy and brewery fit-outs, laboratory tanks and any application where contamination resistance matters.
Semi-crystalline thermoplastic with excellent chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, very good fatigue resistance and a high melting point. Density ~0.91 g/cm³ (the lightest common engineering plastic). Service temperature -10°C to +100°C, handles steam-clean cycles. Highly weldable. Naturally hingeable in thin gauge.
FDA-compliant grades make PP the default for food-contact, dairy and pharmaceutical fit-outs. Higher service temperature than HDPE makes it the right choice for steam-cleaned environments and warm chemical processing.

Common applications .
Food-processing hoppers, chemical scrubber stacks, dairy and brewery tanks, laboratory benches and fume-cabinet liners are all daily PP work. Where the spec calls for hot wash-down or food-contact, PP is usually the answer over HDPE.
Industrial bunding and chemical storage where the chemistry mix favours PP over HDPE. Chemical-resistance charts available on request.

From sheet to finished part .
CNC routing for machined parts, hot-gas and extrusion welding for tanks and processing fit-outs, mechanical fastening for assemblies. Solvent bonding does not work on PP, it must be welded or fastened.
Stocked natural, grey, black and food-grade PP in 3 to 50 mm sheet. Standard 2440 × 1220 mm and 3000 × 1500 mm. FDA-compliant grades brought in to order, quote includes documentation.

Common questions about polypropylene .
Both are weldable polyolefins with excellent chemical resistance. PP has a higher service temperature (+100°C vs +80°C HDPE) so it handles steam-clean cycles better, making it the standard for food-processing, dairy, brewery and pharmaceutical fit-outs. HDPE is tougher in impact and slightly cheaper.
Yes, FDA-compliant grades are available for direct food contact. Documentation is supplied with the quote. PP is the default material for food-grade hoppers, processing tanks and dairy fit-outs.
No, like HDPE, PP has a low-energy surface that resists adhesives. Joins are made by hot-gas welding, extrusion welding or mechanical fastening. We weld PP daily for food-grade and chemical fabrication.
