Materials

PVC.

The classic industrial sheet, rigid, weldable, and easy to print. Two grades: rigid PVC for industrial fab, foam PVC for signage and displays.

Overview

Industrial all-rounder, two very different grades.

PVC is the industrial all-rounder, rigid, weldable, easy to print on, and cheap by the sheet. We stock rigid PVC for chemical and industrial fabrication and foam PVC (Forex®, Sintra®) for printed displays, signage, exhibition work and lightweight architectural panels. Two very different materials, both standard daily.

Rigid PVC: density ~1.4 g/cm³, service temp 0°C to +60°C, excellent chemical resistance, naturally flame-retardant, easy to weld and bond. Used for chemical tanks, ducting, scrubbers, valves, flanges and any industrial fabrication where chemical resistance matters but HDPE isn't quite right.

Foam PVC: closed-cell, density ~0.5–0.7 g/cm³, easy to cut, screw and print, lightweight and rigid in panel form. Used for printed displays, signage substrates, exhibition stands, lightweight architectural panels and trade-show fit-outs.

Applications

Common applications .

Rigid PVC: industrial chemical tanks, ducting, scrubbers, valves and flanges. Solvent and hot-gas weldable. Stocked in grey and clear in 3 to 30 mm.

Foam PVC: signage substrate (printed direct or vinyl-applied), exhibition booth panels, point-of-sale displays, lightweight architectural feature panels. Stocked white in 3, 5, 10 mm, common print substrate.

  • Chemical storage tanks and ducting (rigid)
  • Industrial scrubbers and valve flanges (rigid)
  • Battery cases and bunding (rigid)
  • Printed signage and display substrates (foam)
  • Exhibition booth panels (foam)
  • POS display backers (foam)
  • Lightweight architectural feature panels (foam)
  • Modular partition systems (foam)
In the workshop

From sheet to finished part .

CNC routing for both rigid and foam, hot-gas welding for rigid PVC industrial work, solvent bonding for rigid PVC clear and grey, screws and pins for foam PVC display assemblies.

Note: PVC cannot be laser-cut, chlorinated fumes are corrosive to the laser optics and toxic. PVC always goes to the CNC router.

FAQ

Common questions about PVC.

Rigid PVC is solid sheet used for industrial fabrication, chemical tanks, ducting, scrubbers, and is hot-gas weldable. Foam PVC (brand names Forex® and Sintra®) is closed-cell, lightweight and easy to print on, used for signage substrates, displays and lightweight architectural panels. Two very different materials.

No, PVC releases corrosive chlorinated fumes when laser cut, which damage the laser optics and are toxic. PVC always goes to CNC routing instead. This applies to both rigid and foam PVC.

Excellent resistance to most acids and bases at room temperature, naturally flame-retardant. Standard for chemical processing fit-outs where HDPE or PP isn't quite the right chemistry match. Specific compatibility tables available on request.
