The quiet hero of plastic fabrication .
Line bending is the quiet hero of plastic fabrication. Done right, it gives you crisp corners and perfectly aligned geometry from a single sheet, stronger, cleaner and more cost-effective than bonded joins. Done wrong, you get scorched, creased or stress-cracked plastic.
We've been bending plastic at B&M for 65 years and the trick is the same as it ever was: the right line heater, the right dwell time, the right hand on the sheet. Sharp inside corners with crease-free outside curves. Edges remain glass-clear in the bend zone, no scorching, no whitening, no stress lines.
Acrylic (cast and extruded), polycarbonate, PETG and most amorphous thermoplastics in line and radius bend configurations up to 3.6 m long. Sheet thicknesses from 1.5 mm to 25 mm. Both single-axis and multi-axis bend sequences.

Where this is used .
Whenever a project needs a structural plastic angle or a crisp visible corner, line bending earns its keep. We bend daily for retail and signage work, hospitality fit-outs and architectural detail.
We jig and template in-house for repeatable production runs. Once a bend is approved on the first part, every part after it lands on the same line at the same angle. Honest setup time on small jobs is in the quote.
- Retail product displays and POS stands
- Illuminated sign returns and dimensional letters
- Architectural balustrade infill
- Enclosure fronts and equipment housings
- Exhibition plinths and display walls
- Hospitality bar fronts and sneeze guards
- Hospital hygiene barriers
- Custom signage and award returns
From sketch to shop floor in 24 hours .
Send a CAD file, a sketch or a sample. We need bend lines, radii (where applicable) and bend angles, show them in the drawing. For prototype work, a 3D PDF or STEP file is ideal.
Quote back inside 24 hours. First-article sample on multi-part runs by arrangement so you can sign off the bend before we commit to the full production batch.

Common questions about line bending .
Up to 3.6 m long, in sheet thicknesses from 1.5 mm to 25 mm. Most production runs are jigged and templated for repeatability so every part lands on the same line at the same angle.
No, done right, line bending leaves the bend zone glass-clear with no scorching, whitening or stress lines. The trick is the right line heater, the right dwell time and the right hand on the sheet. We've been bending plastic at B&M for 65 years.
Yes, single-axis, multi-axis and radius bending are all standard daily work. For compound shapes (curves on multiple planes simultaneously) we'd usually move to thermo forming rather than bending, talk to us at quote stage.
